Just got back last week from an absolutely wonderful 1 week vacation in Barcelona. I almost cried at the airport on my return to NYC.

I stayed at the Hostal San Remo located in the most perfect place in Barcelona. It was situated 5 minutes(walking) from Las Ramblas and also in a safe, quiet location. I got home late (I'm talking 6 am !) from nights dancing out there and had no problems or reasons to worry.

Its also a quick and easy train ride from La Sagrada Familia and the Picasso Museum.

Rosa, the lady who runs the hostal, was pleasant, sweet and very very helpful. I miss her already ! She recommended many good places to eat and gave great advice on anything we needed to know.

I completely recommend Barcelona to anyone that loves culture, history, beautiful people and fabulous parties.

If anyone's travelling to Barcelona anytime soon and has some questions, don't hesitate to ask me.

Same here !!! I stayed with them, end March.

I am absolutely pleased with San Remo.

Felt safe with its environs.

I had Room 2, which was just at the reception but it was very peaceful still.

Furniture is new. Room is very spacious too. It smell fresh & was very clean. The heating was great too !! It was 1 of the best hostal that I had stayed in.

Rosa didn't speak much English though.

At the reception, there was free Internet usage for guests. This was a great relieft, considering that we needed it to check out the bus schedules, etc.

From Placa Catalunya, 1 street before San Remo, there's a convenient store - Sprint.
