Is this an oxymoron in May? From what I've seen, May is not quite the high season. Any suggestions are much appreciated. It doesn't have to be the Ritz, but the two ladies I am traveling with won't do the hostel thing. Many thanks.

While I can't personally recommend it (because I've never been to Sitges ) you might consider this seemingly lower-cost option:

Hostal Maricel - Nice-looking hostel located in the center of Sitges, 50m from the beach. Rooms have bathrooms, TV, phone, music, air conditioning. Rooftop terrace & bar/café onsite. Apartments available too. Reservations by phone/fax/email. Semi-multilingual website.

I found the above hostel (called "hostal" in Spanish/Spain - not to be confused with a YOUTH hostel which is called "albergue juvenil") @ http://www.SpainHostels.com/links/Cataluna/Barcelona/Sitges/
