Ernest Hemingway once described his fantasy as "two permanent barrera seats in Las Ventas with a trout stream running out back".

What is your favorite Madrid/Spain fantasy?

Mine is a perpetual weekend where none of my friends have to work the next day. Needless to say, unlimited funds, good weather and few more points on the "guapo" scale are involved!

Hola Mongo,

Well, my fantasy is to be in Madrid during the Annual Book Fair in May/June! I have always missed that.

Ohh mine would be to get to Madrid before end of August, get all glammed up, meet up with some friends and get to see one of the Poncela plays, and then to savour the warm caressing breeze in my hair of a Madrileno starry night cool

I’d like to be a cat in Madrid

Then I could slink around secret places in the balmy night air. Silently springing up onto any viewpoint I wanted and surveying the moon and stars in every direction.

My night would be completed by sharing a large pile of gambas and anchovies and pulpo and calamaries and and ... purrrrrrrrrrr ...

Then I’d curl up for a big long snooze in a quiet shaded alley somewhere just occasionally lifting an eyelid to make sure I wasn’t missing anything.

Yep, I’m definitely going to be a cat next time round cool

My fantasy.....well, to begin with I would need permenant legal residency. I don´t seek great wealth so only a modest job and an equally modest piso would be required. Of course, to complete the fantasy I would need a Madrileña to whisper sweet Castillan words into my ears on a regular basis. laugh laugh Spanish women are unequaled!!!!

I am quite envious of the millions in Spain who live this fantasy every day.

Cheers

Hola Booklady!!

Yes!! I only knew because you posted the info a couple of weeks ago and I'm yearning to go. I've only read one of Poncela's other plays and also some of Vallejo's. It would be so great, especially 'aire libre' ufff. cool
It's not so impossible neither, just that work is getting in the way booo. jeje

I suppose an impossible fantasy would be to watch a corrida en Las Ventas, where the toro is the matador and the torrero is the toro and for the toro torrero (if you know what i mean) looks for me in the crowd makes eye contact bows in my honour and procedes to do the deed. lol. laugh Now that would be guay.
I just love those Toro movida comic T-shirts!!
laugh laugh
