I can't believe it, the Zara here in SoHo is so different than Zara in Spain. I just went this afternoon excited that we had Zara here and maybe I'm exaggerating, but the styles seem completely different and everything is three times the price. The states are ridiculous. Has anyone else been? -MAM

Zara is a clothing store for women and men. It is usually large, several floors, though the one here is just one. I doubt Boston will have too soon. I was happily surprised New York has it. There are Zara's all around Europe. I saw them in Madrid, Sevilla, and Barcelona. They seem QUITE popular there. -MAM

According to the Zara website , the only USA stores are in NYC, Miami, and Wayne New Jersey. NYC has FIVE STORES!! MY GOODNESS! My ladyfriend in Madrid does a lot of her shopping at the Madrid stores. Madrid has about 35 stores but they're ALL OVER Europe. Happy Shopping! Saludos, MadridMan

Zara here in the USA ?? That could be the best news I have heard since returning from Spain . I absolutely loved shopping there...decent quality, very large selection, and generally cheap prices. At times it seemed like everytime I turned a corner, there was another one. In Bilbao, there are actually 2 on the same street (Gran Via), right across from one another.

Probably not. I liked several things, it isn't bad. It was basically just an observation that the style seemed a little different and it isn't as cheap as in Spain. I can't believe there are 5 in New York. Where?! -MAM

When my in-laws came to the states last year (for our wedding) they were excited to see Zara as we toured NYC. Keep in mind that the prices are adjusted according to the market that the store is located in. Therefore, since the average American salary is 2-3 times higher than the average Spanish salary, so are the prices at the Zara stores in the states.

Oh wow. I just checked the Zara website and I never would have imagined how many countries have Zara! It's like a fast food chain.

What's next in line for this unstoppable commercial juggernaut from Spain...VIPS on every corner? First Zara, then kioskos selling gominolas and ¡Hola! magazine! We must stop this invasion before it gets out of hand and I'm able to buy jamón serrano and La Casera here in my hometo...wait, this isn't so bad after all!

Calibasco, what a great idea! Forget the clothes, people! We need jamon serrano sold at gas stations like I've seen them in Galicia! Churrito (who is eating smoked ham with asparagus sauteed in olive oil and tossed in coarse salt tonight, dreaming of cenas in Madrid)

Zara - my wife's favorite place to shop while in Spain. Too bad we can't get the Spanish price, where comparatively everything seems to be on sale, all the time.
I agree with CaliBasco theories. We will never shop at the Zara's in the United States. Enough Spanish capitalism invading our soil! Bad enough we have a El Botin in Miami! What's next, cafe con leche, calimari boccadilos and paella on every corner. We should have stopped this Spanish invasion of our soil back in 1492. We need to support our American mom and pop institutions like Gap and McDonalds. Oh my gosh, I just had a Spanish omelet bagel yesterday at McDonalds. I am supporting the onslaught. What have I done???
