Good! A new group where we can talk about Cup now that it's in progress! Everyone knows that Spain is playing Slovenia in like 45 minutes, right?

How freakin' pissed am I? There's a complete blackout of the games here unless you have Via Digital satelite television which I don't have. (Long story involving wacky neighbors not liking the cables and ripping control boxes off the wall after we got it installed). The Spain games, of course, will be live but the rest I've had to keep track of on the web and ridiculously shot clips on TV.

You guys in the U.S. are probably watching a lot more soccer than I am right now here in Spain.

WOO HOOO!!!!!! I read the message board at 9:15am this morning or thereabouts, saw Jamiemiguel's and Asterault's message about the start time and the first (?) goal by Spain and turned on the TV to catch the last 5 minutes. I was casually walking around when the clock was ticking UP at 47 minutes, thinking I had another 13 minutes or thereabouts, and missed the final minute or so... maybe the game is 48 minutes long?? DOH! Just another typical "American" who knows nothing about soccer/fútbol. hehehe..

CONGRATULATIONS SPAIN!!! 3-1 !!! Now, who do "we" play (i.e. "BEAT") next??

MM: in fútbol, extra time is added at the end of the halves for game stoppage (also known as player theatrics )... so usually about 3 or 4 minutes is played after the 45.

Next up is Paraguay, on the 7th at 11h (here).

England tied Sweden earlier in their very hard group, and the United States starts on the 5th against Portugal at 11h. 5 in the morning for you folks there.
