The last time I went to Spain was over 8 years ago. Finally, I've got a trip to Madrid scheduled for early December. Only 5 days, but it's something.

I remember liking Madrid a lot when I was there. It was my favorite of the cities we visited, which included Seville and Barcelona. Then again, in Madrid I was staying at a wonderful pension with the friendliest family I've ever met, while in Seville I was sick, and in Barcelona there was a transportation strike. I liked all the cities, but the other two definitely had some strikes against them, through no fault of their own.

Anyway. Nothing much of note in this post, I'm just excited. My last international trip was to Eastern Europe. It was a lot of fun, too, but I had no idea what anyone was saying. Granted, my Spanish was only two years in college, 10 years ago, but I still remember bits and pieces. It's always a lot more fun when you understand at least some of the language.
