I would never understand what drives people to rise a 8000 meter mountain, but I respect it as a superhuman effort.
It is always sad when people die. When a team allieged (is that the word?) to a country have a disaster, then the whole country looses, not only a group of its citizens, but a part of itself.
I have heard that in the Everest, the climbers often find died frozen colleagues in the path up to the pick! At that height it is impossible to take the corpses, because the climbers are exhausted and fighting to survive themselves.
