Give some more information to locate El Morche on the map for us...
Re your project... In the first place, get to know your neighbors, mervhants and the local authorities there, they will be always be your first source of reliable information if you can make real contact. Secondly, do some basic internet research on wells and well digging to have a better handle on what you are about to undertake. 3rd, find Spain's equivalent of the "US Geological Survey" to research the water sources you may or may not have access to. 4th, find the local equivalent of the Farm Extension or Bureau to see how local farmers get and use water. 5th, go to local farm co-ops to see if you can get the local farmers to tell you the skinny on what the local water supply is like. After all this, go back and talk to your neighbors that are farmers and run your ideas past them.
things to check for:
a)Find out what locals in your area do for their water supplies - it sounds obvious, but they may not use wells at all.
b)Find out what the average well depth is currently and what it used to be a generation or so ago,
c)find out if local users are satisfied with their current well depths, maybe they are shopping well diggers too and can compare notes w you.
d)Find out if there is any trend to drill wells deeper.
e)Find out what the quality of local water suppl is like, to know what kind of treatment sysytem you will have to install in your supply line.
Depending on how remote your location is, on how expensive any piped municipal water source is (if available), and how plentiful the local water supply is, you may want to plan other water supply strategies that include a collection and storage system that takes advantage of the mild winter climates (cysterns are great if you don't have frost heaving in the winter), and of the rainy season.
If all else fails, just hook up into the local municipal water supply and budget-in the water bill.
