Hello
I'm from Portland, Oregon (actually just across the river in Vancouver, WA - but if I say Vancouver, everyone thinks Canada). I lived along the Eastern coast of Spain for a couple years in the early 90's. I will be going back for the first time a week from Friday. It will also be my first visit to Madrid. I've enjoyed this forum as a means to prepare for my trip - Thank you all for your opinions and input.

I am living in near Versailles,Paris France. I ,also,lived in Madrid long ago before the movida!!! I have 4 nationalities and lived in all four;these are Cuban(La Habana), Spanish(Madrid y Tenerife),American(perth amboy NJ and Daytona Beach/Miramar FLorida), French(Near Versailles).

I do not know where i am going....but will tell you when I get there....

Well, I'm just southwest of Philadelphia for about 6 months per year, on the island of Aruba in the Dutch Caribbean the rest of the time when I can't be in Spain.

I'll join in too! I wish I had Aruba on my list of homes!!
Im originally from the woods of northern Minnesota but St. Paul was my last home. And after a stint in New York I find myself in central Madrid. Ive been here 6 years now. Me encanta!

after reading this topic quite a few of the members are american decent. how did you all find this forum? it is not advertised in england, i found this site by chance, does madridman advertise the site or did yiu all find the site by chance?

Most of us - from the US, EU, Australia, etc - googled "Spain" or "Madrid" or any other reference to Spain .... and MadridMan pops up as a resource ....

I also found the site by googling "Madrid" several years ago. I didn't start to read the board until about a year ago, but now I read it often for news and suggestions about Spain in addition to reading other online sources such as El País and ¡Hola! (I know, some serious sources, some frivoulous sources)
