Hey, Xena: Apparently you don't dig shrunken heads. You didn't have to go to Madrid to see them - you can find some along with some other 'shocking' artifacts at the Museum of the American Indian in New York. I don't know if that museum will be moving to D.C. since it became a part of the Smithsonian. Its location in NYC (Broadway & 156th St.) was not in what you would call the heart of the tourist area.

Sometimes we find things we consider to be unique in foreign countries without even knowing of these (often superior) exhibits in our own backyard.

Depending on the feria or the fiesta, there are bullfights on different days. Many have them on Saturday as well, and the most famous of all, San Fermín in Pamplona hosts bullfights daily from July 7-14. It all depends on where you go and when.

Don't worry too much about what's in your future in Spain. Leave some space to let serendipity work. It works best there.
