I read on the Internet that November 9 is a local fiesta in Madrid. What will happen? I mean all the shops and other places like museums or galleries will be closed like for a national fiesta?

November 9 is la Virgen de la Almudena. It's celebrated only in Madrid city, not in the Comunidad de Madrid or in the rest of Spain. We also celebrate (in Madrid city) San Isidro on May 15 and "el día de la Comunidad de Madrid" on May 2 (it's the date Madrid people rebeled agaisnt the french invasion).
