Hi everyone:

We are fortunate to be having a 3 week holiday in Spain in May. We are starting with a week in Barcelona where we have rented an apartment but we will be arriving on May 1 and are concerned about being able to get some basic supplies on that holiday. What I mean by basic supplies: wine, cheese, olives, bread, fruit and yogurt. We figure everything else can wait until MOnday

Are we right in thinking that shops will be closed that day? What do people suggest? We will be flying into Barcelona via CDG in Paris and figure we can pick up some wine there but we are at loss for the other items ...
