I was going to sign up for a TEFL course through TtMadrid to teach English..mostly because they offer job assistance and help you find an apartment (which I absolutely despise doing). Anyhow, my question is, is anyone familiar with this program? How is the quality? And most importantly for me, how is the job assistance?

Loc: Hastings Old Town , England .
I don't have first hand experience of this particular school though I did study for my TEFL certificate at another school here in Madrid . However I was recently looking around at other agencies and this one caught my eye . It seems pretty well put together but you have to bear in mind there are a huge amount of English schools in Madrid all trying to offer the same thing .
This school seems to specialise in business English and you will likely be travelling to people like managers , lawyers , doctors etc... . Business teaching can be one of the best paid ( In a very low paid profession ! ) .
Madrid is crying out for teachers of English ! Though i'm not teaching right now , hardly a week goes by without me being contacted to do some teaching . Once you have the TEFL certificate they'll be plenty of work !
Finding an apartment is a hassle at times as I discovered when I arrived here about 2 years ago ..If you're OK with sharing then many suggest this is the best way to start out especially if some of your house mates are Spanish speakers .
The site ( ttMadrid ) suggests 450 Euros a month for a double room in a shared house . That's about right .. You'd get something reasonable for that ( Though vastly different to North American standards ) . If you want your own place I would say you'd expect to pay 700-1000 Euros depending on which area of Madrid it's in ( Check with the school where they are based ).

If it's any help , I certainly have loved my 2 years here in Madrid and Spain is so hugely varied from region to region that you'll have plenty of great experiences exploring . Good luck .... !

Your in luck, I did my TEFL at TTmadrid (Say hello to Natasha for me) and I was very happy with the experience. I highly recommend them.

And Steve is correct, loads of work teaching English, main problem is getting bulk hours, classes tend to be 8-9 1-2 and 6-7, plus loads of time bouncing around the metro. When looking for work try to get things that are well connected, nothing wastes time more than having to make metro connections.

Most teachers also do the flat share thingy as rents and are pretty steep here.
