Believe me I'm not rich either, just good at finding financial aid. I liked the school, the campus, and the professors. I was however disapointed with the lack of academic seriousness from most of my fellow classmates and friends. It was obvious that many were there because they had money and not for their academic prowess.
It was super easy to make friends. I made a lot of friends and keep in contact with several.
It's a good place to improve your Spanish but you have to be disciplined and stay away from English speakers when your hanging out. You got to introduce yourself to some Spanish students right away and tell them you'd like to practice speaking and hang out between classes and after.

http://fotos.qdq.com In my opinion though, if you are interested in studying just Spanish, a Spanish University is probably the best option. Several have programs designed for non native speakers and then your whole world would be in Spanish. And they're much cheaper.
