Can anyone recommend a hostel in Madrid which has quad rooms suitable for a family with young children. We don't mind sharing a bathroom and we would prefer to access a kitchen. We're staying a week then moving south.

I don't think there are any remaining hostels in Madrid (now that Hostal Dulcinea no longer has its apartments) which give guests access to their personal kitchens and none have kitchenettes, I'm sorry to say.

I searched this forum and did find the " Hostels for families (Madrid) " which you may find useful.

I know that Hostal López has one BIG room with three beds which you might be able to use. Hostal Chelo has a quad room too -- 4 twin beds.

If you need access to a kitchen, why not consider an apartment for those few days? They're going to be more expensive ($50-80/night for 4 persons) but you'd have more space and also a private bathroom and kitchen. I've added a number of them to my MadridMan\'s Madrid Apartments page. Seems the least expensive of those are the " 1 Huertas Apartment " & " ApartSol ".

Good luck!! Saludos, MadridMan

I understand the challenge of finding quad rooms, having recently returned from 2 weeks in Spain with my family of 4 (including 2 teenagers). We had 8 great days in Madrid staying at Hotel Suite Prado, 2 blocks toward the Prado from Plaza Santa Ana. We were in room 301 which actually consisted of 5 rooms!(large bath w/ 2 sinks, dressing room, large bedroom w/ king bed or 2 twins, living room with pullout sofa bed, another room w/ a rollaway, plus a kitchenette with sink and fridge and cooktop. The airconditioning was super as was the soundproofing. There is an elevator and the staff is very helpful! The webaddress is www.suiteprado.com. For us it was an ideal solution though perhaps a bit pricey--not knowing your budget--it was 174 euros a night--but worth it to us for location, etc. smile
