I will be traveling to Barcelona mid July (I know at the peak tourist season!) and want to know what the dress code is like during the day. I wanted to know if I could bring my calf length shorts, or are long trousers perferred during the day. Night time isn't a problem.

What is the temperature like at night?
Should I a jacket?

Depends on the zone of Spain you sre. In some places night temperature may reach 30ºC, while in other will not rise higher than 15 ºC.

In Barcelona it is very unlikely you may need a jacket in July.
