I will be in Madrid on Dec 28, staying for couple days. Then heading to Andalusia. Is it possible to travel from Madrid to Granada on Jan 1 by bus??

Good question. I just checked the Continental Auto website @ http://www.continental-auto.net/ (the bus company which makes this route) and they don't have excluded travel dates. I tried to test-buy online for January 1, 2006 but it wouldn't allow me to do so - but it wouldn't allow mid-December 2005 sales either. So it seems they don't sell them so far in advance.

Anyone else know if buses have regular service on New Years Day?

Bus companies usually have special schedules for those days. They usually cancel services that depart around midnight on New Year's Eve.

I think you'll have to phone them a few weeks before to check if they know the schedule.

I did everything MadridMan did at continental website, and got the same result. I would love to know the bus schedule before I booked the Alhambra ticket. Should I call checking the bus schedule on November, is it gonna be too late??

By the way, how many of the tourists around New Year in Madrid, is it crowded?
