Football - chant/ song question - 10/20/05 07:42 AM

Every time i pay a visit to watch football at any spanish stadium. The supporters always chant a song which sounds like abuelo oh yea, abuelo oh yea

which can't be right since abuelo means grandfather.

So does any one out there now what is being sung, better still where can i find the lyrics.

I think that it is:
" A por ellos, oh eh...."

Thks Robbieroy.
This sounds more like it. Do you know the non-literal translation?

By the way liked your blog/post on your excursion to the language school.
good reading

Hi Participar
Thanks for the comments on my recent posts about Studying in Madrid. I will add some photos soon. As to you question, this is a difficult one, but close approximation would be:
"Let's go United"
"Here we go, here we go! ...."
Basically, the chant is to show support and encourage the team to "get stuck in " to the opposition.

Apologies for the mis-spelling but the chant I remember from my Atletí socio days is:

Quiero beber el sangre de los Madridistas. laugh laugh laugh
