IT Jobs in Spain - 11/24/03 10:35 AM

Has anyone viewing this being able to get an IT job in Spain without speaking perfect Spanish. I have my MCSE and CCNA but my spanish is not perfect. There don't seem to be many sites for discussing IT in Spain - does anyone have some recomendations.

One thing interesting that I found out is that the region of Extremadura is really promoting Linux. I wonder is I should shed my Microsoft clothes and set off to add an English twang to the LinExtremadura revolution!

Hi!
I think if you have relevant experience and good Spanish you should be able to find work here. Normally Madrid and Barcelona are the two best places for IT work. If you search on www.infojobs.net you will get a better idea of which skills are in demand and where.. It's also worth looking at expat publications such as INMadrid (linked on MadridMan)
If you just want a first step on the ladder or a temporary job whilst getting that dream job, I have noticed that in both Madrid and Barcelona job agencies have been advertising for native English-speaking telephone operators.
End of the day you'll going to have to have moderately good Spanish wherever you end up.
Good luck!!!
