Seeking Work (paid or unpaid) with Madrid Artists or Activists - 04/03/01 08:34 PM

I've just returned from my first two weeks in Madrid. I've been enchanted, so I begin my research to return for a longer stay.

I an artist's assistant in Boston. Possibly I could arrange for a similar position with artists in or near Madrid. Painters and Sculptors, (stone, glass, metal ) are my field.

I have expertise working with elderly and disabled. And am particularly interested in working with eldery and disabled artists.

Beyond seeking work with an artist - I am interested in giving time to activist organizations in Madrid. These are the advocacy groups I am intersted in:
Womens Equality
Immigrant Rights
Peace & Non-Violence
Holistic Health, Organic Food
Do you know some weblinks for such groups?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have moderate fluency in converstaional Spanish, after a few weeks of immersion, it becomes full fluency. My writing skills are advanced but at a lesser level.

Muchisimas Gracias

Archaeological and conservation projectsare coordinated in Spain by the Instituto de la Juventud, Servicio Voluntario International(SVI) de Espana, C/Jose Ortega y Gasset, 71, 28006 Madrid, tel. 913.092.713. They publish a handbook Campos de Trabajo containing details of two week projects all over Spain. Don't know their website. Suerte.
