Let me translate.

He was in Madrid two years ago.
Two people tried to mug him but since he likes to fight and he's a big guy he wound up beating them up leaving them sore. (But unless he was with them the next day, I think he's assuming this fact). i also think they almost mugged him so they must have been very good at it.
In a nutshell, what spike is saying is...return violence with violence by punching the lights out of would be muggers.
