mobile phones (again) - 05/15/04 11:18 AM

Hi all,

I know this will have been asked ( I have seen similar questions anyway), but I'm unsure about my mobile phone whilst in Spain an dthe rest of EU.

I am planning on taking the phone I use here in AUstralia (a nokia), and getting a SIM card in Europe.
I get the impression that I would need a different SIM or number for each country I go to as they are all on different operating systems. Can I just take my phone?
Where is the best place in Barcelona to get a SIM on its' own? and is it cheap?

any advice welcome....
thanks smile

From what I understand,if you have the right kind of phone (GSM phone), the SIMs are about 25 euros. There are also SIMs that are good pretty much throughout Europe, not sure of cost. Here is a pretty informative link to cell phone options: SIM options . The SIM purchase discussion is about halfway down the page.

Have fun!
