Madrid: La Mallorquina Open in August?

I will be on a short business trip to Madrid this August. In the the distant past my favorite bakery, La Mallorquina, was closed for the month of August. Is that still their custom?

It was closed when I went by two days ago.

As an alternative you might try two other pastelerías closeby:

La Riojana down the street on the right (north) side of c/Mayor (there's a cafe in the back) or, even better...

La Santiaguesa--further down c/Mayor on the left (south) side--no cafe. La Santiaguesa has another branch in Chueca on San Onofre.

In my opinion, both of these places have better pastries than La Mallorquina.

Sure, napolitanos are available pretty much everywhere.

The best napolitanas de crema are to be found at the Bar Roda, just past the Police Station on Calle Huertas...near the Paseo del Prado.

I am an expert, and these are THE BEST.

I am pretty sure they are open in August.
