Near Madrid: Vineyard / Wine Tours?

Near Madrid: Vineyard / Wine Tours? - 07/05/06 12:26 AM

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on a certain vineyard to tour. Preferably near Madrid or South of Madrid. (I also accidentally posted this in another forum as well). In any case, a buddy and I are wanting to check out a really good vineyard while we're in Spain.

What are you recommendations?

I've seen some online.. I don't think I can go for one of the luxury tours - but a different, more price conscious, tour would probably work for me.

Thanks!

OK - Found a one day tour of La Mancha, but it's running about 300 EU.. and that's just too much for me to spend on that.

Now, does anyone know of any wineries in or around Segovia or Toledo?

Do you need the tours to be in English? If you can do one in Spanish, your options are better.

Fell through due to problems with PEPEcar. I highly recommend not renting from these people. It looks like you'll save money but in the end I've had terrible service and have been charged for stuff that I didn't do. Not to mention this last time not renting to me because they said I didn't qualify, though I had rented 2 previous times from them. They deny I did, even though I have the invoices.

So I wanted to find another car and go, but then my move to Barcelona came up, she has a job up there, and with that move(by sept) and the car problem, I don't have time. Not to mention our site is taking more time lately.

On the other hand we'll have lots of new material when we live up in the Catalan wine area!

Sorry for the long explanation...

I would suggest a wine tour around some of the wineries in the Ribera de Duero.
Its a 2 hour bus ride from Madrid or less if you hire a car and a number of the bodegas do wine tours.

It depends on what you want to do. Vineyard tour and wine tasting and or including overnight accomodation and or typical traditional meals in the area and a visit to the underground bodegas under the city.

When do you want to do a wine tour?

During the vendemia..the harvest at about the end of September should be good and very interesting with lots going on.

Get in touch if you'd like me to sort something out for you.

Hey Ryan! Going to move to BCN good luck. Bon viage! Whose gonna dog sit for me in the future?
