I was in Madrid in mid February and went to a club "El Sol" on Calle de los Jardines, just off plaza del Sol. Their was a band "Garage Jack" that was pretty incredible. Here's a URL:

From the crowds reaction, they have a very loyal following. It was pretty impressive. I didn't understand a single song until the last encore when they did a version of "I feel good" by James Brown.
