Madrid Football: Rayo or Athletico ? - 10/09/01 09:23 AM

I'm looking for info on going to see either Rayo Vallecano or Athletico on October 14th.

How much is a ticket to either venue and what metro would I get to Nuevo Vallecas (Rayos' stadium)?

Thanks in advance,

Dómhnall

Hi Domhnall! While I can't answer your questions, hopefully REPLAY will chime in because he is a HUGE Rayo Vallecano fan. REPLAY! ARE YOU THERE??? wink Anyone else know this information?

Not sure if the Rayo Vallecano or Atlético de Madrid websites would have this information or not, but you could check them out. Good luck and have fun!

You can get there easily by getting out at the Metro: Puente de Vallecas. From there just walk up the Avenida de la Albufera (the main street there) and the stadium is on the right about halfway up the street.

The right metro stop for Rayo Vallecano is Portazgo, you don't have to walk, it's right beside the stadium. For Atletico, the metro stop is Piramides, and the cheapest ticket is 2000 ptas. Maybe you could prefer to see the Atletico-Rayo match that will be the 10th(tomorrow) at Atletico's stadium.

Assuming youve checked out fixture list-if not go to www.soccer-spain.com - it's more than likely one game will be Sat afternoon and the other Sat eve/Sun afternoon. Do yourself a big favour and see them both. Tickets easily available at the ground and check out the Sheffield United grafitti on the fondo sur wall at Atleti laugh

Opppss, sorry, I was "despistado" and I didn´t see this interesting topic. Yes, the cheapest price is 2.000 pts, you can get tickets in Rayo Vallecano stadium (for the Rayo supporters zone) or directly in At.Madrid stadium. There is a lot of public transports to Vicente Calderón stadium, local trains and metro (Pirámides), or the bus lines 36 , 17 , 119 , 34 and much more...
By the way: AUPA RAYO!!! wink

My very limited pc can't even find their website...

Last time I went to the Calderon it was 15 eu for a seat on the top tier of Fondo Sur. I would guess the prices will still be much nearer 20 than 100

i don't arrive in Madrid until about 5pm 2 weeks on Sunday and, therefore, won't have time to buy a ticket beforehand.

will I be able to pay at the gate or are Atletico games all ticket??

(or does the ticket office stay open up til kick off??)

I would say Atlético. For me, it's a better team.

You may buy tickets upon arrival, but cheap ones use to be mostly sold in advance, so expect to pay more than 20 €.
