Basque Country near Durango?

If you were to be teaching in Berriz and Iuretta for a year, where would you live? These two towns are near Durango, but Bilbao seems to offer more availability...both in housing and employment. Or would the beauty of the Durango area rule? My daughter will be working for the Spanish Embassy but will also need to seek a 2nd job. Any suggestions for a recent college graduate?
