Segovia Aqueduct

Segovia Aqueduct - 05/04/10 08:51 PM

Of course the Roman aqueduct in Segovia is a major attraction, and for good reason. This was my second visit to this city and I remain impressed with the structure. To think that it was built nearly 2000 years ago and still stands and functions for dozens of centuries is incredible. What lasts this long during the computer age?

At any rate, I made a short video that shows the aqueduct. There was a local craft market going, along with rides for children. You'll see a piece of the merry-go-round in the corner of the frame.

More to come on Segovia later.

Wow! What a great video. (I like your choice of music, too) The filming gives a good impression of the height and depth of that amazing aqueduct.

We also went to Segovia (in April) and had a wonderful visit. It is a magical place and I'd like to go back and spend more time exploring the town.

Did you go to either the Cathedral or the Alcazar?

I agree, teachertraveler8! I was thinking the same thing about the video giving an excellent impression of the height and depth of the aqueduct! I hope it is okay with you, admiral44, that I put the video on my class webpage for my students to enjoy it too! I look forward to your other posts/videos!!:)

Teachertraveler8,

Thanks for the kudos. I went to the Cathedral again this trip but not the Alcazar. I saw that last time and didn't have time this time.

Esperanza,

Okay with me! Let the kids learn.

Thank you for this video. Now I'm sure to visit Segovia when I'm in Madid next time (End of May).

Leonardo,

Segovia is truly a must-see. If you like roast suckling pig, there is a restaurant by the aqueduct called "Meson de Candido". It is pricey, but they have great suckling pig. Also, save time to wander through the town and see the cathedral and alcazar. The views near the Alcazar are spectacular.
