Low Fares to Madrid

Low Fares to Madrid - 04/14/07 10:33 AM

Iberia is offering seasonal service to Madrid from Washington Dulles Airport. I just got a fare of 680.00 in July.

I hope some of you will be able to take advantage of this. It truly beats going to JFK.

Where do you change planes, or is this a new route for Iberia?

Iberia starts new direct routes from Washington-Dulles (Jun 2nd) and Boston-Logan (May 5th) to Madrid. They are not supposed to be seasonal, but all year round.

I suddenly need airfare (was put in a lurch by Air Plus Comet) and I tried to find this new Iberia sale. Can't get anything under $1000 to come up. Did you book direct with them? or use a website? Thanks.

...SalaChic...try www.travelocity.com I assume you are looking for NY to MAD in which case you should find something around $600...a lot can depend on the day of the week you want to fly

I've been to Travelocity. I'll try again, but this is for july and everything is well over $1000.

I just checked several web sites, lots of things just over $1000, but nothing under.

...hi SalaChic...no wonder you (or I) can't find a fare under $1000....16th June till end of Aug is considered the high season...plus the fact that folk from Europe are taking advantage of the weak dollar and filling up flights.Plus, many Americans fly the week of 4th July. I had a look at a consolidator web site and put in a departure of 14 June returning a week later...the fare was +- $150 less than putting in a date after the 16th.You may want to try going NY to Dublin or London and then trying one of the low cost European airlines such as Clickair...but i don't think you would save much. I suppose you have to fly in July!!

By the way, the fares on the consolidator site included taxes and junk fees.

Yes, I know it is high season, I go every year. But I usually save some $$ by buying my tickets in January or February....not at this late date. I'm having to start over, and i'm not happy about it. Yes, we are locked into flying in july because of work schedules. What consolidator site are you using?
