Car rental in Madrid - 03/06/05 11:55 PM
Hi---Can anyone recommend a good, reliable, affordable car rental agency? Have used Alamo in the past (good results) and Avis (not-so-good results) booking from the US. Is there another I could look into, from home in US or perhaps a local Madrid agency? Thanks!

Hi!
I'd say that if you already know a good car rental agency then you should go for it again
. However, public transportation in Madrid is a better chocie (the whole city and suburbs are well connected, it's cheap, it's comfortable, etc).
Public Transport:

1. Europcar

I would be sure to give Carjet a try. They have an excellent web site.

I'm giving Hertz a try, as they came up with the cheapest rate for a midsize car for me. I don't get my car until the 21st of March so I really can't be sure!

Floroz,
I used argusrentals this last September, and everything went smoothly. They were reasonable priced compare to the American companies. Actually, I think they were the cheapest I could find. We drove from Madrid to Barcelona, and Malaga to Madrid. The cars were clean and ran fine.
Good luck!
