New Detroit-Madrid Service from Northwest

Northwest just announced new seasonal non-stop service between Detroit and Madrid commencing on May 1, 2003. Somo promo fares are available for travel between May 1 and May 22, 2003. The fares don't look all that great, nevertheless, visit

This will be my first trip to Spain and I've seen these fares on Northwest. I thought they sound pretty reasonable for mid-May and am almost ready to book them, but would appreciate if you tell me why you think they are not THAT great and where and when I could look for cheaper fares. Thanks.

I think $ 674 is very reasonable for May. Last August, I paid $ 813 for a round trip airfare. In March, my airfare is $ 678.00 round trip with Northwest. Besides cost consider the travel time enroute to Madrid. Don't drive yourself crazy searching for the cheapest airfare. cheaper airfare may mean more travel time to your destination.
