Toledo-Segovia transportation

Toledo-Segovia transportation - 08/21/01 09:51 PM

In late September we will be spending 2 nights in Toledo and then traveling for 2 evenings to Segovia. Both my friend, who is fluent in spanish (mexican spanish), and I will have a suitcase and carry-on.

I know that there is probably more frequent bus service on both routes, but will this require a change of bus stations in Madrid? I haven't been able to find web sites for buses from Toledo-Madrid and Madrid-Segovia.

If we take the train we will have to change from Atocha to Chamartin (thanks to all of you I've been acceesing the RENFE web site). How difficult is this with luggage?

Which is the best way to go? Bus, train or a combination of both?

Let's see:

Toledo - Madrid (bus: Estación Sur de Autobuses at Méndez Álvaro)
Madrid - Segovia (bus: La Sepulvedana station at Príncipe Pío)

Toledo - Madrid (train: Atocha at Atocha Renfe)
Madrid - Segovia (train: Atocha at Atocha Renfe)

I would recommend buses because they are more frequent (Toledo - Madrid) and faster than trains (Madrid - Segovia).

The best way of doing the transfers between stations is by train. Depending on the combinatin you choose, you'll have at much 4 stops from one station to another.

There is no website for the buses doing the route Toledo - Madrid yet. The route Madrid - Segovia is run by La Sepulvedana ( La Sepulvedana ). Madridman has a link to that site at his links section.
