Granada Hotel Recommendations

Granada Hotel Recommendations - 02/10/08 06:47 PM

I very much appreciate the recommendations I've already received from others for hotels in Sevilla and Cordoba. Now I'd like to ask the same favor with regard to Granada. My nephew and I will be spending a couple of days there in mid-April and I was hoping to find something reasonably comfortable but not overly expensive, Thanks.

Okay! Finally a question about lodging in Granada !

First, what's your price range? And are you only considering hotels or will you also consider the smaller budget hotels (called "hostales")?

Second, do you like to be INSIDE the middle of the "Old Town" or "Casco Antiguo/Viejo" or just on the edge or outside?

I've stayed at a couple hostels (called "hostales" in Spanish) there and most of the dozen I toured were pretty adequate but, of course, it depends on your level of necessity or your expectations. For example, there are people who won't stay at Hostal XYZ when they read the hostel doesn't have an elevator, air conditioning, private in-room bathrooms, or WiFi internet. What do YOU require?

I have stayed several nights at Casa Morisca . A tricky walk along the river but nice rooms, good service, and clean. Beautiful courtyard as well.

Wow! Thanks for that link and review, admiral44! I just finished looking at their spectacular photos and EVEN MORE SPECTACULAR 350º (full screen available!) images of the insides and out. Wow. Just beautiful. Kind of pricey for a 3-Star hotel but if you get that one room with the fantastic views of the Alhambra I suppose it's probably worth it.
