hostel in Barcelona - 06/07/06 10:05 AM
I am going to Barcelona the first week of September. Is a hostel room without air-conditioner too hot and uncomfortable to stay in that period of time? This is my first trip to Spain. Your help is appreciated.

The weather in September can be somehow hot and air conditioning is really important when you want to have a rest in the afternoon.

It's hard to say from my point of view. Where I live it is extremely hot so I am used to it and don't mind. However, I agree with the others. Most people will want air conditioning.
You can always open the window and buy one of those fold out fans that are so commonly seen in Spain! ;-)
P.S. Does anyone know why this is? Where I am from, we always called those "Chinese fans" but I was shocked to see just how common these folding fans were in Spain. Just curious...

Thank you so much for the info. I am thinking about booking with hotel Peninsular (best inexpensive hotel by Frommers) which has AC. Any comments about this hotel? Thanks.
