BARCELONA - HOTEL/ HOSTEL/ APARTMENT & WHERE?

I am going to try again as I don't think my first post worked!! Travelling to Barcelona very soon with a girlfriend from Oz who I haven't seen in years & we want somewhere central to stay that is a good standard - 3* or higher. It has been a challenge to work out where & what type of acccomadation - so if anyone has been to Barcelona & found a great place to stay please let me know!!

We stayed at the Wilson-Husa hotel, on the Diagonal. It was great, and we loved the location because we took cabs everywhere! The cabs are so much cheaper than nyc, it's amazing...It's also a great restaurant area, where real locals eat, almost no tourists.

Not sure when you might be going. I wish I'd seen your post sooner.

I'll be staying at the Citadines Apt. Hotel ON Las Ramblas this November. I stayed there a couple a nights before. It's great to have your own fridge and stove, CD played ect...to come home to.

The prices can change often. I booked about 2 or 3 weeks ago and got a rate of 77e a night. Now, it's up to 118e. Here is the link just in case you are still looking.
