Alemeria and the Spaghetti Westerns - 12/29/04 12:00 PM

Hola. I have never been to Spain, and I am planning to visit in summer of 2005. I am a huge fan of the Spaghetti Westerns most of which were filmed in Almeria. Can anyone tell me what's it like over there? It is one of the places in Spain I am planning to see. Cheers! smile

My wife's cousin lives on the coast in Aguadulce in the province of Almerķa, just up from the city of Almerķa.

We have been there twice, and each time we say the same thing: "Hey, this looks just like Southern California".

Cool. Do you know if the old studios and props from the heyday of Italian Westerns are still there? Gracias, amigo!

The studios and props are still there and are open to tourists. The (ugly) Website of the place is http://www.texashollywood.com/

Fantastico! I cannot wait to visit the area. Has anyone seen Alex de Iglesia's homage to the Spaghetti Westerns "800 Balas?"
