Madrid: Hostal Barrera?

Going to be in Madrid last week of Jan, 2005, have been having a difficult time making reservations at numerous hostals. I guess there is some sort of tourist convention that weekend. So finally got a room at Hostal Barrera , Nieves the owner has been very helpfull, and ther rooms from the website look fine. Has anyone else stayed there before and care to share their experiences? Seem to have positive reviews from prior posts.

I've stayed in the Hostal Barrera four times over the past year and a half. My most recent stay was in August and I highly recommend it as you see in my review .

The location is ideal, the rooms are up-to-date and quite comfortable, the price is right, and, as you have already discovered, Nieves (not to mention her friendly staff) is a doll.
