Barcelona: Pension Dali - hostal review - 05/05/04 03:46 PM

Pensión Dalí , the most dreadful accommodation on our two-week journey. In fact, checked out after only one night of a planned four night stay, after finding alternate accommodations. This truly is a pensione. If you are in your 20’s and do not mind the spartan accommodations, (and the strong cigarette smell), then this is your place. But given the hundreds of other accommodations in Barcelona, would not recommend staying here. The bedspreads appeared dirty and were frayed on the bottom. The mattresses sunk down to the box spring, providing no support what so ever. While the sheets appeared clean, we were very uncomfortable with a general un-cleanliness feel about this property. Further, the locks on the room doors did not appear as secure as I would have preferred. The rooms do have double pane windows, which helps shut out the sounds, but as this property is located at Boqueria,12, it is a very noisy location, even with the windows shut.

I stayed there at Easter Time in 2003! The worst accomodations I have ever had anywhere in my life! I would have moved, but to where at Easter time!
I hope they close it down or sell out!
Horrible and nasty clerks.
