Madrid:Need advise on Hostals/apartments

Hi there,

Me and my bf will be in Madrid from Sep 25 til Sep 28 (3 nights) and are still looking for affordable accommodation. Can someone recommend us a good place to stay in the area of Puerta del Sol for under 45 Euro? (per dbl room)
I've seen so many names of hostals that it's quite hard to decide. Therefore, tips and recommendations from your own experiences would be greatly appreciated :-))

Wenasje, I know there are many, many hostals and hotels but Madridman point out which ones are in the Puerta del Sol area (city center) and then you can use the search option of this message board to see different opinions. Come on is easy!

Try Hostal Pinariega . They charge about 41 euros per night. OK, so it's by Plaza Mayor, but it's a very decorative hostal.
