I had a lovely meal there. It's a beautiful parador. I'd recommend it (and the town). go to www.parador.es for all kinds of good deals.

Does it fall into the "castillo" category?

Don't remember, but the descriptions and pics at http://www.parador.es/ingles/85clicks/carm/carmpaning.htm should tell you.

Yes, it is a castle. And looks absolutely lovely. $113 a night in May...not bad, sí?

How to get a better deal? Think there's room for negotiating for three/four rooms?

It's a much remodeled castle, so you'll have interior comfort. The best deal is the tarjeta de cinco noches.... maybe you can use 4 of the 5 nights there. It's like 300 dollars for 5 nites. Other discounts: DONT BE INSULTED but is anyone 60 or over? astounding discounts.

I checked, and sadly, MAY is not a month that offers any discounts. Perhaps you can ask for the tarifa de empresa (business rate). You just tell them that you and your colleagues from work will be doing business in the region. See what happens! You can write over email to the central reservas. ALWAYS print out a copy of your reservation and confirmation number.

You're right, rgf. No discounts in May. And we're in our early 50s so no senior descuento either.

I had already written to ask if they could possibly offer a small discount since we would be renting three or four rooms. Nada.

i was just there 4 days ago on my way from sevilla to madrid. we stopped and had lunch there. btw, the food is great. the back of the parador looks out over a green plain and the pools. its very nice, i'm sure you'll enjoy it.
the town itself is a sleepy little ancient roman post. i found it extremely charming!! laugh laugh

It's a beautiful parador. The view is incredible. Carmona is a sleepy, small town, but it's nice.

Does anyone know if it is too hot in August for Carmona? My mother is leaving the US for the 1st time in her life to come see me in my beloved Spain. She's coming in August and I'm dying for her to see Andalucía but I don't want her to die in Andalucía's summer heat mad . I've heard from several people that Seville is insoportable and that time, but I'm wondering if Carmona is a little cooler???
Thanks!

Hola, ¿alguien sabe si hace menos caló en Carmona en agosto que en Sevilla? Me gustaría llevar a mi madre a algún lugar en Andalucía, viene en agosto y nunca ha estado en España.
gracias!!
