Hi!
Concha Buika presented her new album "Niņa de Fuego" a few days ago.
This woman was born in Palma de Mallorca (Balearic Islands) in 1972. Her family is from Guinea Ecuatorial.
Probably purists don't like this flamenco-jazz fussion. I particulary like Buika's voice, so fresh and new
. What are your opinions?

Thanks so much for posting this thread! I always like learning about new music from Spain, and I agree that her voice is really great. I will have to look into buying her music -- it seems that iTunes does have some of it. Her music reminds me a little of Cesaria Evora, the great singer from Cape Verde who blends her African heritage with her Portuguese heritage. You can hear some of the similarities in this song Mar de Canal .

A friend of mine is a fan of hers. I think she recently had a concert here in Madrid - or will have a concert here in Madrid soon. What a lovely voice she has.
