Stunning flamenco-jazz fusion - 05/06/07 05:34 PM

Hi!
Jerez-Texas is an Spanish-french trio of musicians based in Valencia City performing flamenco-jazz fusion music.
They merge not only flamenco with jazz but other musics like african or celtic. They even dare to mix flamenco with traditional valencian folk music (José Aparicio singing in valencian at "Après la Pluie" song), the result is very surprising.
You can here some songs from their web page by clicking on "audio" or "video".

I hope you'll enjoy it.

I'm not familiar with Jerez-Texas but am sure they're experts in their art.

Having witnessed quite a bit of the flamenco-jazz fusion performances this month for the Suma Flamenca I have to say that it's quite entertaining. It's my wish, however, that potential ticket-buyers understand what they're getting before their purchase. I can imagine some serious disappointment for some spectators entering, sitting down to what they believe will be a traditional flamenco performance and hearing flamenco-jazz fusion. While entertaining and enjoyable for the music it is it leaves you wanting when expecting something different.
