Hello guys,

I found these great Madrid photos on the net and I thought perhaps you would like to see.

The night shots particularly look fantastic.

Here is another site with great photos of Madrid:

THis one looks more like a commercial website but the photos are great nevertheless. I hope it is ok to put the link here.

Yes. I always love to see photos of Madrid and Spain. I love this country.

You can also do a Madrid search in google:

By the way, talking about photos, I found this one of Cibeles statue:

... and I have a question, which are those buildings in the background? Is this photo a fake?

What do you think?

This one also looks odd!!

So they may look odd but this is because overwhelming majority of cibeles photos is from the other side with the post-palace whatnot in the backround. Both of these are taken from the southern side of the statue and the slight angle change is responsible for the, admittedly odd looking, backgrounds.

The buildings in the background is the Buenavista palace, the Spanish Army Headquarters, and its not a fake, of course, it is in Cibeles square.

I was thinking the reason the angle of the photo was shot is probably due to the sun. It was hitting that side of the fountain during the time when the photo was taken. The other possibility is that on other side of the fountain could be a sign, police car or anything that would ruin the photo.

what about the photo in the second link? The building in the background says BANCO INVERSION. I have passed by Cibeles many times but I dont remember any bank there.

That bank only ocuppied that building for 2 years or less. The building is next to the Buenavista Palace, and in past times was the central office of other banks like caja postal and argentaria actually the building is empty.

you guys are right about the Buenavista Palace. I was there the other day, well I should say night. on 23 sept. "La Noche en Blanco" there was a concert there and people could enter the complex.
