Madrid: Wireless internet? - 06/07/06 11:22 AM

Are wireless internet connections common in Madrid yet? Like is it possible to bring a laptop to an internet cafe and get a wireless connection?
Thanks!

Nowadays many hotels and hostels offer free wireless internet connections to their customers. Just check with the one you choose if they have a wifi network available.

The hotel our guests will be staying at does not have wireless internet as far as I can figure out (Hotel Claridge in Conde de Casal), so does anyone know of any internet cafes or other places with wireless? Thanks!

Yours is a good question, Rubia. I hope someone has some firsthand experience with this. I haven't looked lately (until now) but don't think there are many true CYBER CAFES which have wireless access. No doubt there are a few out there but I haven't heard of them.

According to the link (found through a Google search) @ http://www.jiwire.com/browse-hotspot-cafe-spain-es-madrid--madrid-2020598.htm the majority of those places with (paid) wireless connections are at the Starbucks cafés - but I wonder if you have a table available to you to work. These listed here are mainly coffee shops and only a few are cyber cafés.

Good luck! Saludos, MadridMan
