Winter weather in Granada

I am studying next semester in Granada. I will arrive in January. What kind of temperatures and weather should I be prepared for? Will I need a heavy jacket? Any snow? Thanks!!

You'll want a warm jacket for the evenings (mornings too, come to think of it) especially if you want to have a coffee or tapa sitting outside (BTW, tapas are free in Granada). However, on a sunny day the afternoons can be pleasantly warm. It's unlikely to snow in the town (though not impossible), though you can go skiing not far away in the Sierra Nevada (which was already nevada in early November). When it's snowing up there it's likely to be cold and wet in Granada.
