El Divino - 08/23/02 03:34 PM
I shared dinner last Saturday with a local couple who had just returned from living and working in Spain, more particularly Navarra. The wife of the couple is a navarra, so I had to reminisce about living in Pamplona and participating in the encierros of San Fermín years ago.
I told her about an older man I'd run with who was to me the Michael Jordan of the encierro. No sooner had I said those words when she blurted out "¡¿El Divino?!". I was amazed that someone else had noticed and knew the man! We talked a bit about him, I described him and his "identity" was verified. Then I thought, why, in this world of "extreme sports" wouldn't someone like El Divino be noticed and have notoriety in his "sport".
So I did some searching and found this from El Mundo on Los Sanfermines. It looks like El Divino has some other "regulars" when it comes to the encierro.
Gora San Fermin!
