cycling (training and racing)in Madrid

My name is Mike and I'll be living in Madrid with a friend from January '02 to March '02. I need to find out where to find a road and mountain bike race schedule as well as how to join a club to race with and people, maybe that are in my same situation, to train with. I am coming to Madrid strictly to train so it is very important that I find these things out. If you can help me in any way I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Mike.

Maybe you can try to contact with Macario bikes, they are distributors of bike components but they have their own team. www.macario.com (you will find their mail there)
There is also a very famous cyclist association called pedalibre but I don't know their web, and I'm not sure if they also do mountain bike..
