Memories of the civil war: abuelitas - 10/09/00 10:28 AM

MM-- really enjoyed your account of talking with the abuelitas about the civil war. You should interview la duenya and ask her some questions... then post the interview for us! That's a real piece of history that few can recount today. Rest up and keep up posted on your adventures.

rgf made a suggestion I was tempted to make. It would be fascinating to read what it was like then - in the caves, etc. And from an incredible perspective - a 12 year old child's with the hindsight of a mature woman. My God, the tales you must be hearing! You would be capturing a bit of history - a history we are all glad is long gone. Give it some thought MM ....

MM, I also would very much love to hear a 1st hand account of The Civil War from an ordinary citizens perspective. What I've read always had an agenda of the writers included rather than the Common Mans eye witness. Enjoy the rest of your trip MM.
