Madrid on Wednesday celebrated the New Year (Chinese). The Chinese community in the region celebrated on 2 February the New Year with traditional dances and oriental dances, instruments, costumes and a parade with dragons and tigers characteristic ...... the end ... all Chinese, sure!

Chinese New Year Parade, "Year of the Rabbit"begins on February 2 at 11:30 am from Puerta del Sol-calle Arenal-Palacio de Oriente-Plaza Espaņa.

It should be very colorful, more and more of then there now, and seen on TV speak pretty good Spanish ::)

Does Madrid allow firecrackers? The firecrackers are an integral part of Chinese New Year - believe they symbolize the chasing away of the past year and welcome in the new .... If allowed - be prepared for a lot of NOISE!
