medication names? - 05/22/03 12:40 PM

Does anyone out there know the name of a good decongestant? My allergies are killing me! I asked a pharmacist about a decongestant and she said that all of the decongestants that come in a pill have anti-histamines too, and since I´m already taking Claratine, it wouldn´t be good. She recommended some nasal sprays, but I was really just looking for something like Sudafed(?) or something simple like that. Does anyone know the equivilent name of that in Spain?

I can sympathize with you on this one. While I studied in Granada last semester, I had allergy problems at first (and I dont in the usa so it was kinda odd). I went to the doctor and trying to get something (woa interesting experience haha). Anyways, he gave me something, forget the name but it made me sooo sick, much worse than the allergies I was trying to get rid of rolleyes !! I tried bunches of stuff over the counter trying to find something similar to sudafed, but nothing worked. I ended up just having my parents send me sudafed from the usa. Good Luck! Guess its just a minor detail compared to the luck of being able to live in spain!

Sudafed is Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride (HCl) 30mg. According to drugstore.com, the dosage for adults is 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours, not to exceed 4 doses in a 24 hour period.
